In a thrilling finale on January 17, the South Korean survival show Universe Ticket revealed the debut group of its season, with two Filipino contestants securing spots in the new 8-member group called UNIS. Gehlee Dangca and Filipino-Korean Jin Hyeonju, along with fellow Filipino contestant Elisia Parmisano, make up the “Filipino Line” of the group.
The contestants were sorted into five levels based on their performance scores and fan votes, with “P” being the highest. Jin Hyeonju, also known by the stage name Belle, is half Korean (father) and half Filipina (mother). She made her K-pop debut with GOOD DAY under C9 Entertainment in July 2017 and was introduced as a member of C9 Entertainment’s next girl group, cignature, in 2019. However, due to her debut with UNIS, the agency announced that cignature would continue promoting as a six-member group for now.
